Unformatted text preview: Matthew Psyllos Scott Dirkse Music 15 Due 10/14/10 Concert Report 1 For my first concert report in Music Appreciation I chose to attend a contemporary piano performance by Daan Vandewalle. It was held in the Lotte-Lehmann Concert Hall at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 7 th 2010 and ran for roughly two hours. No programs were distributed, nor were tickets sold, so the show itself did not exactly have a name. However, Daan did announce the names of his pieces before he played them, but unfortunately he has a very strong European accent and I only caught a couple of them. His first and longest piece was called “The People United Will Never be Defeated” and it was composed by Frederic Rzewski. He also played a few songs composed by Marc Sabat, one called “Nocturnal.” His final piece was “Three to Four to Five,” composed by Clarence Barlow.
