Week 3 Assignment: Civil Liberties and Civil Rights I chose the right to privacy, controversy over abortion as my topic because it is the most controversial topic available. Most politicians will not even take a side because it is so controversial. When a politician does choose a stance on the issue they lose a large amount of support no matter which side they choose. I actually cannot remember any politician admitting to being pro-choice. They usually just describe themselves as liberals, but when it comes to Pro-life there is less fear and more support. The only reason majority does not rule in this case id because of the danger involved in illegal abortions. I believe a person has a right to privacy and to choose their path in life, from choosing a career, or who they marry all the way to when, where and how to raise a family. Human beings often make mistakes in life and should be able to choose how to correct those mistakes. If a person who is addicted to crack cocaine makes the mistake of getting pregnant, she should be allowed to choose not to bring another life into the mess. Most babies born addicted to crack have severe problems from birth, even if the mother gives up the child he or she will never live a normal life. The child should not have to pay for the mothers mistakes, it is cruel.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
