Indeed the 3 MM straw performed the best with the water in the tube rise up to 8 MM, the 4 MM straw made the water rise to 7 MM, and the 6 MM straw made the water rise to 6 MM. The second element of science that this experiment has given was in the specialized field of Botany, where scientists could use this information for additional tracking of water transport in plants.
