European Car Market Breakdown The European passenger car market is the biggest market for passenger cars in the world. Europe has over 20 automakers that are offering more then 50 brands with 200 models. The passenger car market is also the most heavily advertised consumer product in Europe, accruing over $5.6 billion in expenses in 2003. With all these different options, consumers in Europe are looking for more then comfort and quality in their cars, they are looking for a vehicle that reflects them as an individual. Each market segments looks at the size of the vehicle, the body type, its price, and also how the vehicle will reflect there social status, religious views, status and amount of enjoyment they seek to get out of there vehicle. The market is broken down into 3 segments: the traditional segment, the mainstream segment, and the postmodern/materialistic segments.
