Rachel Welty Professor Bayse English 1102 8 September 2010 Topic Proposal Arizona is having specific problems lately with illegal immigrants. These immigrants have always been there, but it wasn’t until recently that the federal government has been enforcing the laws about illegal immigrants. Residents are frustrated, saying that if the government had enforced the laws that have existed for a while, there wouldn’t be a need for new laws. Immigrants, both legal and illegal are frustrated, as well as natural-born citizens. Illegals are being expedited. This wouldn’t have been a problem, had these rules been enforced from the start, but they haven’t been. So now, people are frustrated and panicking about the sudden interest in enforcing the laws. Many believe it to be unfair. Government officials say they are just doing their jobs to expedite the illegals, but immigrants are confused as to why this is happening now.
