National Government has to take care of issues under the Constitution. 3) What is the police power? Police powers are state regulatory powers and the term does not solely relate to criminal law. Refers to the broad rights of state governments to regulate private activities to protect or promote the public order, health, safety, morals, and general welfare. i) What is the conflict between the states’ police power and the commerce clause? To prevent states from interfering with trade by establishing laws, the Constitution expressly delegated to the national government the power to regulate interstate commerce. 4)
