The following list was made for international students travelling to US-Texas for the first time. It is based on the feedback given to the Intercultural and International Students Services by International Students and Student Organizations. Please make sure to select things according to your personality, sex and choice. The numbers are provided keeping in mind the luggage space. Apparels Full Sleeve Shirts 2-3 Half Sleeve Shirts 2 Formal Trousers 2 Blazer (Informal) / Suit (Formal) Suit Recommended. 1 Optional and if you wish to bring one, Navy blue / Black one is preferred. (We don’t find good suits here so better bring one). It is important during formal parties and interview. Tie 2 T-shirts 6-7 Jeans 4 Shorts / Cargos / Bermudas 4 Joggers/ track suit bottoms- casual wear during winter 4 Belts 2 Formal and informal Traditional 1 Highly recommended, needed for the cultural programs. IISS office and student organizations organize lot of cultural programs like cultural extravaganza, global expo, diwali, lunar new year, cinco de mayo in which cultural dresses are preferred. Sweater 1 Pajamas / Night Suit 2-3 Under Garments 14-20 As you may go the laundry once in 2 weeks Towels 3 Handkerchiefs 8-12 (Generally no one uses them here) bring them if you really use them Blanket (Light Weight) Recommended! You can buy a rug here costing approx $15. I Recommend buy one those lightweight blankets that does not occupy a lot of space. Single Bed Sheet 2 Pillow Cover 2-4 Get full size covers Double bed sheet Recommended, because beds are of different size. Woolen Gloves/ Scarf Optional, Leather & wool. You can buy them here for

approx. $5. So it's ok to bring 1 pair of woolen gloves. Jacket 1 MUST, and better if it works for cold as well as rain, cause here it rains and becomes cold. Not much snowfall. But it is very windy.(comparatively cheap here) Woolen Cap Get one that covers your ears. Or better get a Jacket with a hood. Thermal Innerwear 1 Winter is not that cold, but it is better to have one Caps 1-2 Summers are really hot here, light colors are recommended. Foot w ear happals / Sandals 1 Floaters recommended for summer. Also you can bring traditional footwear, matching the traditional dress you bring. lippers ormal Black Leather Shoes Highly recommended, they are very very expensive here, and you have to wear the formal shoes for presentations / job-fairs etc. asual Sport Shoes You may also buy here. Good ones are usually around $40 - $60 hoe Polish For Formal Shoes hoe Polishing Brush ocks Black ocks White Also Cheaply available here
