Biology 105C Fall 2007: Study Guide This is only a GUIDE.  As such, it is only a starting place for studying.  You are  responsible for all material covered in lecture.   Use your textbook as a reference guide to help you understand your lecture notes while  studying.  Remember, the more active your studying, the more effective.  Passive  studying like reading and rereading over and over won’t help you to really KNOW the  material.  Don’t get caught in the trap of thinking you can recognize something on a test  because it sounds familiar; it almost never works! Science and the Scientific Method Describe how science is done and list the steps of the scientific method. Define hypothesis Identify the limits of science and describe what we cannot test using science. Compare theory and hypothesis.
