Alex Broaddus 1. Georgia, like numerous other states, obtains several of the 83,000 local government agencies that make up our entire country today. Just to mention some of the local governments that Georgia contains are : Governor Office of Consumer Affairs, the Department of Community Affairs, Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Defense, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Education, Department of Labor, Department of Technical and Adult Education, Department of Transportation, Georgia Emergency Management Agency, Office of Planning and Budget, Office of the Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire, Department of Agriculture, and the Department of Corrections, not even naming them all. These departments and different local governments are what make up the entire city of Atlanta, and the entire state of Georgia. Each of these are extremely important in their own ways, even though we are so used to them day by day, that the people are almost subliminal to all of the different local governments that Georgia obtains. We do not realize that when someone dangerous gets arrested off of the street, that it is our local government and police force that sends that person to jail. When there is a fire, we do not realize it is the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire that takes care of the damages and local fires. We are very subliminal to all the government agencies around us. Whenever there is a pothole in the roads, the Department of Transportation is out there fixing out local roads. All of these different departments of local governments greatly help make our rural and urban areas a lot safer than we realize.
