Myron Christopher Grant CIS 2010- 81590 09/10/2010 Using Information Technology as a Hotel Manager Web Search As a student at Georgia State University, I am majoring in hospitality administration to become a hotel manager. In order to find out more about my topic, I searched Google using the phrase “using information technology in hospitality.” Therefore, I found a website called Ezinearticles.com. In Nick Nikolis’ article, “Information Technology in the Hospitality Industry,” he states how technology in the hotel industry is expanding and how it is more efficient today than in previous years. For example, something as simple as wireless internet can offer a hotel “security cameras, door locks, and other devices essential to hotel security and safety.” (1) Furthermore, he declares that these features “can be wired into the network so that the staff is alerted whenever a door is propped open, a fire alarm goes off, or suspicious activity occurs.” (1) Nikolis also explains that “hotels with room service or other guest services can offer their menus online, allowing for quick updates, high-quality photos, and other ways to allow guests to see and order services before they even arrive.” (1) In saying that, from this website and
