Edward Borroni Student Leader Reflection GSU 1010 10/25/10 -Edward: What is your personal philosophy/definition of leadership? -Justin: My personal philosophy on leadership is something that my grandfather taught me, which is to take responsibility for what you do and to work smart as well as hard because even if you work hard but not smart the work never ends if you do not put the necessary thought into what you are doing. -E: How did you first get involved in clubs and activities at Georgia State University? -J: The main way in which I began to get involved was through my fraternity, Sigma Nu. They pushed me to join into many clubs and in general begin to rise above and be a leader. I got involved in leadership within Sigma Nu when my big brother within the fraternity, Michael Mangrum, who was running for president at the time, convinced me to run as well for the vice president position. -E: What skills do you believe are important to be an effective leader? Why? -J: Some of the qualities that I consider to be most important are honesty, integrity, responsibility, open mindedness, and the ability to listen but knowing when to stay firm. The reason I feel that these are important qualities to someone in power is because without them it makes it hard for people to trust you as their leader.

-E: Who is your role model/mentor in life? -J: The person that I look up to most is my Grandfather. This is because I’m really close to him due to the fact that he raised me for a little bit when I was young. He could always tell things how they were without any bogus and he passed me that in life. He is also a very successful business man and I hope to follow in his footsteps in that regard. E: What are some of the activities that you perform in your clubs/organizations and your schoolwork? Please explain them as well. J: I’m a residential assistant which means that I look after our on campus fraternity house as well
