Unformatted text preview: Devon Talend English 1101 Dr. Melissa McLeod November 18, 2010 Shoes: A First Impression Have you ever been walking down the street and realized the variety between each individual’s shoes? Although its main purpose is to protect one’s bare feet from any rough ground, shoes have changed from a slab of thick rubber into a label on individuals in society. Every individual makes their best effort to choose a pair that suits them the best in many ways. A pair is chosen not only by how well the shoe fits, but also the efficiency of the shoe for its purpose. The amount that one puts into following fashion can easily be shown just by looking at their shoes when casually walking down the street. Some individuals greatly care about the factors into their footwear. Wearing a pair of Sperrys or “boat shoes” is rapidly becoming the trendier version of casual footwear. An individual wearing these on a college campus in downtown Atlanta is obviously in no search for a boat. This person is clearly attempting to appeal to the hip style of America’s “trend setting” a boat....
