1- Maggie is the youngest one, a girl who has gone through most of her life having to live with the title of the “ugly duckling.” She suffers from having been burned when she was younger. Not only do the scars affect her physically, but also mentally and physiologically. She is extremely shy and from her mother we find that she tells us, for example, that her daughter is not very bright, she makes up for not being bright by being even more caring and loving. She fits the term beauty is in the eye of the beholder; ugly on the outside, but beautiful on the inside. Dee, her older sister is almost the exact opposite of Maggie. She is very beautiful, has a very strong personality, but on the inside she is very ugly. She is ashamed of where she lives, ashamed of her mother and Maggie, and avoids at all cost of being seen with them. 2- The relationship between the Henry and Elisa is very mysterious.
