Sofia Medeiros 1)The technological changes are one of the drivers of the globalization for making it possible to complete advances in communication, information processing, and transportation technology, including the Internet and the World Wide Web (www). The innovations that occurred in the field of the transportation technology made it possible the development of commercial jet aircraft has reduced the time needed to get from one location to another. Now New York is closer to Shanghai than ever. Another important force of globalization is the market, now selling internationally is easier due to falling barriers to cross-border trade. A company doesn’t have to be the size of these multinational giants to get benefits from the globalization of markets. It is important to offer a regular product to the world, but in the other hand, very significant differences still exist between national markets like consumer tastes, preferences, lifestyles and cultural systems. Another significant force of globalization is the cost, which sourcing efficiency and costs vary from nation to nation, global firms can take advantage of this fact. Cost drivers to globalization are the opportunity to build global scale economies and the high product development costs nowadays. Some of the drivers are; global scale economies;
