Personnel in Technology 2 Personnel in Technology “Unfortunately, computers do not come worry free. Despite all the advances in computers, software, and networks, our wired universe, sadly, often becomes tangled. And since the pace of business has revved up to Internet speed, random crashes and network traffic jams are becoming more taxing than ever. Of course, if your budget has room for a full-time tech-support team, kinks like these are mere headaches. Pop an Advil and call the help desk (Borrego, 2000).” Technology is rapidly evolving the business world, but not everyone in the business world is evolving technologically. In this paper, I will be referring to them as a support team, and by the end of this one should understand the importance of an effective support team (abilities, duties, responsibilities). I will also address issues to be concerned about when putting a support team together. First of all, there are many functions of a support team. These functions may seem endless, but can be any of the following: maintaining/updating confidential information, establishing new user accounts and passwords, maintaining and updating security settings, scheduling maintenance, developing and maintaining a company webpage, support for software downloading and
