Shull 02-15-2011 My City Jakarta, also known as DKI Jakarta, is the capital and the largest city of Indonesia. It also has the greatest population in Southeast Asia which is approximately is around 14,250,000 people. Moreover, this city has also been known as Sunda Kelapa, Batavia, and the last name is Djakarta. Jakarta also the twelfth-largest city in the world after Mumbai, India. Thus, Jakarta has also been known as the second largest metropolitan area in the world and has a name of Jabodetabek. Jakarta only has two climates; they are the hot and humid climates. Jakarta’s wet season rainfall peaks in January and its dry season, low point is in August. This city is humid with dailty temperature range of 77-97 degree. Jakarta is located on the northwestern coast of Java Island, and has one big river called Ciliwung River. However, there are still many small rivers around Jakarta.
