Helmenstine. 2018)Phenolphthalein:is an organic compound used as a laboratory reagent and pH indicator. (Baum ,2018)Purpose: the purpose of titration lab is to determine an unknown concentration in a sample. Titration needs three basic things, first a liquid of known concentration, calledthe titrant. Second a liquid that is needs to be measured called titrand. Last thing is a burette for dispensing the titrant drop by drop into the titrand. The purpose of Phenolphthalein works somewhat differently as it is naturally colorless but turns pink in alkaline solutions. The compounds remains colorless throughout the range of acidic pH levels but begins to turn pink at a pH level of 8.2 and continues to a bright purple in
