Kiss of the Spider Woman Chapter 13 Summary -Molina and Valentin talks about the outside world for the first time -they are running low on food because they ate too much -Molina feels “nice and warm in [his] chest”; his mother seems to be very important to him -Molina continues the film; the girl finds the reporter in the hospital after all the alcohol consumption and they move to a house near the beach; she becomes a prostitute to support his medical bills; the reporter leaves her because he doesn’t want to burden her anymore -this makes Molina sad again since he is going to be “transferred to another cell” -Valentin openly talks about homosexuality: “I mean that if you enjoy being a woman… you shouldn’t feel any the less because of it” Themes -Relationship of film to reality: the magnate has the power to buy the nightclub and to close it down as the Warden has to power to release Molina if he lets out information; the woman takes care of the reporter as Molina took care of Valentin when he was sick; the reporter
