Nick Cheng A Small Place Writing Activity IB A1 The ex-capital of “The Golden Land”. First of all, it’s Burma, not Myanmar. And why do you keep changing the official name of your country all the time? You are now changing it to The Republic of The Union of Myanmar again in 2010. When have you ever heard of a country’s name changing three times in 60 years? You might say I am picking on these details; I am sorry, I can’t help it. These thoughts kept running through my head as I pass through the immigration counter (Did I forget to tell you that it takes a long time?). Finally, though the customs and immigration (Is there always someone that helps you carry stuff in your country?). At last, the freshness of the humid air right in my face. As soon as I got out of the airport, I couldn’t help notice the public transportation in this country. You think this would impress tourists? As a matter of fact, it does. You have no idea what this means to tourists.
