2.4) a) One important quantum mechanical concept about the Bohr model of the atom are that electrons are assumed to revolve in orbits around the nucleus of the atom. The second is that the electrons are only allowed to have specific values of energy dependent on which energy level it is in. It can be excited by an absorption of energy or lose energy by emission. b) The wave-mechanical model is not as limited because it assumes that electrons exhibit both wave-like and particle-like behaviors. It changes the assumption that electrons stay in discreet orbits and instead inhabit an electron cloud. This allows us to gather more information about the probability distribution.
