In order to answer this question, a person must first know exactly what an annual report is. From my research, I came to the conclusion that the annual report is first and foremost a information source for the shareholders of a company. It is also a legal requirement, that serves the purpose of shinning light on a companies accomplishments and to help gain the attention of new investors. The report must be balanced and show no bias in anyway. In order for it to be balanced it should not just be centered around the companies success, but include its failures as well. The information that is included in an annual report as well as the structure and layout of it should have a tremendous influence on the person who reads it. The structure of the report should be chosen by the nature of the business. The information that is contained in the annual report will define its quality.
