The value of the time constant in the plot printouts is Dx, that is, the time it takes the step response to reach about 63% of its maximum amplitude (1-(1/e) ~ 63%). The calculated and measured time constants using the measured capacitance and resistance values are: C Calculated Time Constant Measured Time Constant 1.01 μF .226ms .204ms 9.26 μF 2.07ms 1.845ms 101.7 μF 22.8ms 11.69ms The measured time constants are similar in that they are on the same magnitude as the calculated values.
