I wanted to improve on certain things, such as my desire to summarize less, and analyze more. In the past, I wasn’t giving my opinion and presenting a concise argument, which is something that needed to be done in order for one to be a successful writer. When signing up for this class, I had in mind that it would help me with those concerns, as well as many others that I had at the time. For example, I did know many writing techniques that I could use in order to better my papers. I wrote a total of four papers for this class. The first one was titled “The Role of the Family.” It was written in a descriptive mode while attempting to analyze the different themes occurring between the characters in Madeleine Thien’s “Simple
