With economic stagnation in many parts or the world, the ability for Longmont to remain competitive on the knife-edge of competition is of top priority. The international offices maintained by Longmont Engineering cannot afford to remain isolated from each other. The personnel employed in Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Seoul, and Dublin must collaborate and produce in a synergistic fashion. Inherent challenges to Longmont Engineering's success include the cost of operations and unoptimized business processes that result in decreased productivity. Geographic and social distances isolate each branch, and stifle creative productivity and ingenuity needed to keep Longmont competitive in the market for engineering, marketing strategies, and project bids.
