Unformatted text preview: El Dorado, to me, represents a goal. Its a symbol of what people dream of having. In the Candide , El Dorado represents an illusion want to Candide. He thinks that a city filled with gold and treasures would be the greatest adventure and accomplishment of his life. However, he finds out when he reaches the spectacular city, that he is not satisfied and the treasures arent what his heart really desires. He realizes that he could never be happy until he has the love of his Cunegonde. Fate: Fate served the biggest part in Ramayana. Throughout the readings someone was prophesized to do a great task and destined to be at a certain place at a certain time. Fate first kicks in when Viswamithra approaches King Dasaratha about his son Rama. Viswamithra requests Rama to go off to fight off the evils and restore good to the world.
