Robert Crescenzi Lab #105 10/22/10 1.Title: Coefficient of Static Fritction 2.Background: 1) 0<Fs<Fsmax 2) Fsmax=(coefficient of static friction)*(normal force) 3.Procedures: 1. First we chose a value for Wa and then measured the value for Wb that will just cause Wa to be n the verge of slipping. 2. Then we did the experiment with 6 different values of Wa and recorded the value experimentally for Wb. 3. Then we did a block on an Inclined plane

4. We measured the force parallel to an inclined plane that will just cause a block to be on the verge of sliding up and down the plane, and compared those measured values with values calculated from Newton’s First Law. 5. Then we determined the value for Wa and experimented the value for Wb that will make the block be just on the verge of sliding up the plane. 6. Then we found the percentages of error. 7. We then repeated the step 5 but this time the value of Wb that will make the block be on the verge of sliding down the plane.

What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
