Objective: To compute the electric field caused by point charges in a one dimensional and two dimensional setting. Theory: For the given charges, to find the electric field strength acting on them, just use vector summation to find it. Procedures: Part I: Part I of the experiment required no tools except the computer which was used to calculate the electric field of point charges through Matlab. First, we input the value for permittivity of free space Ε 0 which also corresponded to the K constant K=1/(4π Ε 0 ). Then we input the given charges of Q 1 and Q 2 of each point charge. Next we input the range, X, which the electric field would be calculated. Afterwards, we input equations which would calculate the electronic field from charge Q 1 and charge Q 2 separately which were named E 1 and E 2 respectively. Then we input E total which is the magnitude of the electric field. Then finally we graphed the plot of the electric field. Part II:
