Gonzalez Gonzalez, Maria AP English/ Peterson Pd.4 Criterion Essay 4 January 2011 Although deciding whether after-school jobs are beneficial for students or not depends on the students' abilities to manage time, I find that taking an after-school job is a faulty decision for high school students. As most high school students agree on, the high school experience is no "walk in the park" or "piece of cake". Taking an after-school job is inadvisable because they do not allow students enough time to fully complete their assignments to the best of their ability, students usually return from their jobs exhausted and eager to rest, and because they may add unnecessary additional stress to the student's life. All these factors can easily cause a downfall in the student's education and health. After-school jobs decrease the amount of time left for students to complete their homework assignments. High school homework assignments are not simply busy work; they require time and thought processing, so they cannot be completed in 5 minutes. Considering that students
