To confirm the condition for static equilibrium is that the vector sum of forces is zero. 2. To experimentally test the vector nature of force. 3. To practice manipulating the vectors. 4. To attain better understanding of vectors. 5. To find unknown tensions and directions in a system of strings connected to a central ring. Materials: Force table (with a centering pin attached in the center) with 3 pulleys, 50g Weight hanger (x3), a central ring with 3 attached knotted strings, standard set of weight.
