One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest Chapters 26-27 Journal These chapters were very interesting to read. They conclude with Chief being put into electroshock therapy, and  confusingly, after the treatment, he tells the reader that he has beaten them [the Combine]. I’m not sure I quite understand  this. How has he beaten the Combine after being harshly punished through their painful techniques? Is it that he is quick  to recover after the treatment, or does he have a newfound view about himself, life, and McMurphy? Nurse Ratched, also  in these chapters, succeeds in making the patients suspicious about McMurphy’s intentions. Like the patients, I never
