Nakul Shah AP Writing Block 7 3/26/10 The art of analysis begins by breaking down concepts to their core principles, and  understanding the components of an idea, rather than just observing the whole. By making use  of the broken down components of a concept, an analytic mind can assess a situation, and  therefore find the solution. In today’s world, it is college that prepares the next generation of  analytic minds to become doctors, attorneys, and engineers who form careers with the use of  problem-solving techniques owed to their analytic mind. An analytic thinker is able to work with  the abstract and come to conclusions even if the parts are not tangible or physically presented  to him. This ability allows analytic thinkers to solve situations through rational thought and  conceptual analysis, and thrive in their careers. The use of analysis can be taken out of the  confines of professional work, and used to analyze writing as well. Analysis of writing goes beyond the words and does not search for merely content in a  literary work. How the message is conveyed is equally important to an analytic thinker delving
