Kyle Gring 9/11/2009 MKT 350 3 – Last year, a Southwest Airlines’ flight attendant pulled a customer off of a flight because she was dressed “inappropriately”. The customer was required to “adjust” her outfit before she returned to the plane. Is what Southwest Airlines did right? Ethical- 1. The action by the flight attendant was of ethical nature because they were looking out for the best interest of all of the other passengers in a utilitarianism way. 2. The action by the flight attendant was of ethical nature because they were following the company guidelines, which was to take care of passengers with obscene clothing. 3. Southwest made an ethical decision to remove the customer because they were looking out for all the stakeholders. If southwest lets customers fly half naked, than it will not cast a good image for the company and hence decrease profits. 5. Southwest made and ethical decision to remove the customer because they were concerned for the women and the passengers on board.
