MEMO TO: John Diamond, Vice President, Creative Development FROM: Lisa Ivanko, Talent Developer DATE: November 24, 2009 SUBJECT: North American Trip Report In the 3rd quarter I took a talent scouting trip to three metropolitan areas in North America. My trip included music festivals, clubs, and recitals and meetings with teachers and artists at several music and performing arts schools. Several of the artists I met with have already been contacted for further development; others merit further watch. The Artist & Repertoire team has been briefed and a detailed report of all contacts has been submitted. This is an overview for creative development and planning purposes. The focus of this trip was progressive music, in the sense of new sounds evolving in subgenres, with wide cultural appeal. New York Metropolitan Area and New York State Syracuse—Party in the Plaza Local jazz, rock and country bands play to crowds of up to 4000 on weeknights when the event is held. Some quality music was presented, but not appropriate for our needs at this time. Plan to attend again
