TO: ____________ FROM: _____________ DATE: February 23, 2011 SUBJECT: Timetable for Long Report This is the timetable that you asked me to submit for my long report on the misuse of online services in the workplace. From February 12 until February 18, I read chapters 8, 10, and 15 in our textbook, Successful Writing at Work by Philip C. Kolin, to familiarize myself with the process of writing a business report. While reading these chapters, I took extensive notes and hope they will help me follow the procedures correctly. From February 14 until February 20, I gathered information from both the Rothrock Library at Lehigh Carbon Community College and the Allentown Public Library, utilizing the libraries’ catalogs and the Proquest database. I found a myriad journal articles through Proquest but was unable to find satisfactory sources in book format. The research librarian at the Rothrock Library informed me of the Interlibrary Loan program so I continued my search in the WorldCat database and was able to locate four books that encompassed my topic.

Unformatted text preview: On February 21, I submitted requests for those four books through the Rothrock Library’s website. I followed up with the Lona Beitler, the Interlibrary Loan Librarian, on February 23 to ensure that my requests had been received; she informed me that the books had been shipped on February 22 and should be arriving this week. I also composed an annotated bibliography of the journal articles I intend to use for my report, and will augment the list to include the book sources as soon as I receive them from Interlibrary Loan. You will receive my annotated bibliography no later than March 3 at 9:00 AM. I began taking notes from the journal articles I found through Proquest on February 23 and started outlining my report. I will read and take notes on the books I have requested as they arrive. I plan to begin drafting my report no later than March 1; I will make several subsequent drafts. You will receive my final copy of the report by March 31 at 9:00 AM....
