Artificial Intelligence for Speech Recognition Abstract- Artificial Intelligence (AI) involves two basic ideas. First, it involves studying the thought processes of human beings. Second, it deals with representing those processes via machines (computers, robots, etc). AI is the behavior of a machine, which, if performed by a human being, would be called intelligent. It makes machines smarter and more useful, is less expensive than natural intelligence. Natural Language Processing (NLP) refers to Artificial Intelligence methods of communicating with a computer in a natural language like English. The main objective of a NLP program is to understand input and initiate action. The input words are scanned and matched against internally stored known words.Identification of a keyword causes some action to be taken . In this way, one can communicate with computer in one language. One of the main benefits of speech recognition system is that it lets user do other works simultaneously.

Indroduction to AI- The modern definition of artificial intelligence (or AI ) is "the study and design of intelligent agents" where an intelligent agent is a system that perceives its environment and takes actions which maximizes its chances of success. The term artificial intelligence is also used to describe a property of machines or programs: the intelligence that the system demonstrates. Among the traits that researchers hope machines will exhibit are reasoning,knowledge,planning,learning,communication,perception and the ability to move and manipulate objects. Speech recognition Speech recognition (also known as automatic speech recognition or computer speech recognition ) converts spoken words to machine-readable input (for example, to the binary code for a string of character codes). The term voice recognition may be imprecisely used to refer to speech recognition, but more precisely refers to speaker recognition , which attempts to identify the person speaking, as opposed to what is being said. Speech recognition applications include voice dialing (e.g., "Call home"), call routing (e.g., "I would like to make a collect call"), domatic appliance control and content-based spoken audio search (e.g., find a podcast where particular words were spoken), simple data entry (e.g., entering a credit card number), preparation of structured documents (e.g., a radiology report), speech-to-text processing (e.g., word processors or emails), and in aircraft cockpits (usually termed Direct Voice Inputsts)
