Unit 4: Becoming Gendered - Early Socialization - Project 2 I am a woman. In my opinion the definition of being a woman now that I am an adult is independent, confident, supportive, and nurturing. These four words can mean a lot for others and my personal definitions of these words are as follows: Independent, caring for yourself without the help of others (i.e. a man), Confident, being proud of who you are as a woman, Supportive, always be there for those you care about, Nurturing, care for your children and those who are to dependent to care for themselves. These definitions seem a little one sided or sexist but this is how I have grown to know what a “woman” is. I have not always known how a woman should act or what they should do or be. I have learned this through watching my mother and all female figures I have interacted with all my
