The Swedish naturalist car von linne is considered the founder modern taxonomy his system included the introduction of the two part scientific name genus and species. He also developed a method for classifying species by placing each species into a series of hierarchically arranged categories. The scientific name of an organism is formed from the genus and species The genus sialia bluebirds includes three species Sialia sialis the eastern bluebird Sialia Mexicana The western bluebird Sialia currucoides the mountain bluebird Despite their similarity these three species of bluebird remain separate species because they do not interbreed……. Scientific names are always underlined or italixcixed The first letter of the genus name is always capitalized The first letter of the species name is always lower case The species name is lawyas paired with its genus name Canis is the genus name for the group of animals that includes dogs wolbes coyotes and jackals
