In this lab, you will learn how water’s pH level affects 10 different macro-invertebrates. Follow the procedure steps below carefully, complete the chart on page two, and then answer the questions. Procedures 1. Click on Information at the bottom of the screen and read more about pH and using bioassessment to determine water quality. 2. Examine the aquarium. Three invertebrates have been randomly chosen for you to begin the lab. Notice the pH of the water starts with 7.0. 3. Click on the computer on the desk and record the number of each organism at the 7.0 pH level in the chart below. 4. Click on the dropper in the 1% Carbonic Acid. This will add three drop of acid to the aquarium. 5. Record the pH and number of organisms after adding the three drops. (You can see the number of organisms by clicking on the computer on the desk).
