* Theater - is an event that requires an actor/audience relationship and agreement in a momentary suspension of disbelief of an imaginary circumstance. (Playwrite=WRONG) *Without these people, theater can’t happen: one actor to one audience member -The Play is the physical script on paper -The Production is the manifestation of the script, the actual performance -Actors - create an event that is compelling, we allow ourselves to suspend our disbelief -Cave drawings- earliest tangible evidence of theater, form of storytelling -We need theater because: Education - to teach/gain knowledge, share ideas Entertainment - to escape reality Enlightenment - awareness of our place in our community, seeking something bigger Theater enhances life **Theater is a action not a location *Theater is an event that requires an actor/audience relationship/agreement in a momentary suspension of disbelief of an imaginary circumstance.
