In particular, you should reflect on how your biases would affect your research. Are you genuinely curious about this genre, or do you feel like that you would get bored with it? Are you capable of producing a fair analysis, or would you be reluctant to explore certain avenues in your research? Would you be able to accurately evaluate criticism of the genre?
