Graphic Design: Entry Level According to the Bureau of Labor Statistic website, a Bachelor’s Degree is usually required (Bureau of Labor Statistics [BLS], May 17, 2010), but perhaps two related degrees one of which being an Associates in Graphic design could be sufficient to get one’s foot in the door. A possible job to get would be an assistant to a graphic designer, but if a career in the industry were wanted, then having an additional bachelor’s degree would be expected to have achieved in order to enter a 2 or 3 year program learning the technical requirements of the field. Advancement can come as soon as 1 to 3 years in the line of work. Some of those positions could be chief designer, creative director, or a leadership role. “Employment of graphic designers is expected to grow 13 percent, as fast as the average for all occupations from 2008 to 2018”
