Global and Local Coordinates Systems Each structure has a Global coordinates system, X-Y Each member/segment ij has its own coordinates system, x-y. The x axis is from i to j and the y axis is perpendicular to the x axis. The 90 degrees angle between x and y must be counterclockwise.
