Temple Paper CLT3370-01 Spring 2011 Due : Wednesday, 30 March 2011 Word Count : at least 1250 words 1” margins, double-spaced, 10-12 pt font, bibliography in MLA, Chicago of AJA style format, in text or footnote citations, at least 3 images. Please choose one temple/shrine from the attached list of temples (or other with prior approval). Discuss the temple and the deity worshipped there. Your paper should consider the following: -A brief description and history of the temple -A description of the deity, what facet of divinity is worshipped (and why), and his/her attributes -A discussion of the mythology associated with the god/goddess. If multiple myths exist, choose one or two particularly prominent examples. -Evidence for rituals at the temple Students should consult (and cite) a minimum of five peer-reviewed sources.
