  Chap 2 - MANAGER’S ENVIRONMENT  CUSTOMERS:  People and organizations in the environment that acquire goods or  services from the organization.  People who like to purchase goods on line are  customers of Amazon.com./People who want to buy reasonably priced home furnishings  are customers at IKEA./A company seeking legal services will become a customer at a  law firm.  SUPPLIERS:  People and organizations that provide the raw materials the organization  uses to produce its output.  Suppliers of a restaurant include the butcher, greengrocer,  and fishmonger from whom the chef purchases meat, vegetables, and fish.  COMPETITORS:  Other organizations in the same industry or type of business that  provide goods or services to the same set of customers.

STAKEHOLDERS: Individuals and groups directly affected by an organization and its accomplishments. Aside from its customers, suppliers, and competitors, the stakeholders of a mill include the employees who work there, as well as other members of the community. WORKPLACE DIVERSITY: Describes difference among workers in gender, race, age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and (dis)ability.
