This subject is important since it allows the treatment of cancer to be more effective. It relates to what we are studying since it deals with cancer cells and the treatment of those cells. Vasculature is the vascular system of a certain part of the body. In vasculature of tumors, the tumor vessels branched randomly and vary in size. When the vessels are normalizing, the vessels are returning to normal where the vessels are more linear and smaller in diameter. Normal vasculature has a balance of progrowth and antigrowth factors in an organized network. Abnormal tumor vessels will have an abundant amount of progrowth factors such as VEGF, which causes overgrowth, oversize vessels, and more. This article is about controlling vessels of tumors to help treat cancer. Malignant cancer cells create abnormal blood vessels.
