Roy Lan #1 KTH 10/1/10 Biology Blog Response to The Tree of Great Peace I believe that the most memorable blog that I stumbled upon was Marcia Bonta’s blog: The Tree of Great Peace . I responded to the blog in a very positive way. I thought that this blog provoked a great amount of thought into a seemingly ordinary subject. I was blown away by the Author’s ability to write an informative, yet intriguing essay on such a seemingly ordinary, and dare I say, dull subject. The main idea of the excerpt was to inform the reader on the subject at hand: eastern white pine trees, and to also somewhat persuade the reader into agreeing with the author’s opinions on Pennsylvania’s new state tree. The author cleverly imbedded personal anecdotes into a comprehensive informational format. The conclusion ends the blog affirmatively by stating that Pennsylvania’s state tree should be changed to the eastern white pine tree. Its cluster of five needles to a bundle represented the five nations of the Iroquois
