Roy Lan #2 KTH 11/20/08 Day 14 Radiation and Radioactivity Today, we started class by going over electricity and how it can affect us in our everyday lives. Also, we looked into how electricity was conducted in the times before conventional electricity. After this we started our normal class. We started by Dr. Phil introducing to us a person by the name of Antoine Becquerel. He was a professor in the late 19 th century to the early 20 th century. At his time, whenever you found something interesting you gave it to a professor or scientist, which was exactly what happened in this story. A man from a mine of some sort gave Antoine a glowing rock, which he soon forgot and was reminded of 1 year later. He wrapped this rock in photo paper accidentally because he was a photographer and later he found that the rock had taken a picture of itself. He then did this experiment over and over again including times when he put the photo paper 1 foot or more away from the rock and it came out the same exact way. He
