1 | P a g e March 6, 2011 Addendum to Syllabus for Genetic Analysis II – Spring 2011 1. Please note, I give surprise quizzes, so try to keep on top of the material from each lecture. 2. Recommendations – Some of you may be interested in having me write a recommendation for you. I am happy to do this. I have a few conditions, however. They are: a. You must receive at least a B+ in the course. b. You must come to at least two of my office hours. i. When you come, you must have specific questions that you would like answered, and you must spend at least 15 minutes at my office hours (Please note, attendance at office hours during finals WILL NOT COUNT). c. You must perform the following set of guidelines. They are: i. I will need for you to complete a certain assignment. While you may view this as more "homework", from my perspective, this work will help you greatly not only in terms of enabling me to write a better letter of recommendation, but it will serve you throughout your career-life as you apply for jobs.
