Jones 1 Zach Jones MW 5:30-6:45 8 February 2010 The Native Americans were subsiding in the Americas long before the “white man” even attempted to take part in living off of their land. When the Europeans decided to create companies to colonize the “New World” these Cherokees, Choctaws, and other Indian Nations continued to help the colonies by providing nurture, tactics in growing crops, and reliable trade resources especially in animal furs. Without the influence of these Indian tribes, our infant country of these European colonies would have been a major fail. The problems between these two new acquaintances resided overall in their fight for land. Particularly, in the growing state of Georgia, the Cherokee tribe was having problems with protecting their lands from being overruled by the new white settlers seeking for useable land for growing crops to make new industry. Although many people in the United States were for helping the Indians in preserving their lands while remaining at treaty with them; the government was only interested in bettering
