8. What are several business decisions that you will have to make as a manager that have both ethical and IT dimensions? Give examples to illustrate your answer. The almost universal use of information technology in today’s business arena has provided great benefits to companies around the world, often leading to reduced costs and greater collaboration between employees, suppliers, buyers, and customers. However, the increased use of information technology in today’s businesses has created ethical challenges for managers and end-users to utilize these technologies in appropriate ways. Crime, privacy, individuality, employment, health, and working conditions are the major areas where information systems have created ethical issues in the workplace. The following paragraphs highlight some of the IT business decisions in which managers will have to face ethical challenges.
